The Kelton Carver's Jig is a unique vise designed
to securely hold a work piece at the desired angle and working
height. This is a robust vise designed to handle everything
from the most delicate work to extremely heavy pieces. Unlike
most carving vises, which require adjusting two or more handles
to properly position a workpiece, a piece mounted in the Kelton
vise can be easily moved to any position, including upside down,
with the loosening of the single adjustable handle.
While it will greatly benefit wood tuners and
carvers, its ability to move in an almost unlimited range
of positions will also appeal to art, craft and trade people
alike.
The jig can be mounted in the optional base,
held in a vise, or mounted in a lathe banjo which accomodates
a 25mm (1") tool post.
The Carver's Jig is supplied with the basic
vise, a 100mm (4") faceplate and a carver's screw. Optional
accessories include the mounting base, clamping block, additional
faceplates in 50mm, 75mm, and 100mm (2", 3" and 4")sizes,
and a spindle replicator for mounting a workpiece while it remains
in the lathe chuck. Spindle replicators are available in most
common sizes.
