How to open a sports betting account
Opening an account at a sports betting site takes a few minutes. The details you enter must match your photo ID exactly, because you’ll verify them before your first withdrawal.
- Choose a licensed, well-reviewed operator. Check the licence and reputation first — see the current NZ rules.
- Open the registration form. Tap Join or Register on desktop or mobile.
- Enter your real details. Legal name, date of birth (you must be 18+), email, mobile and NZD as your account currency.
- Set a strong, unique password and turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) if offered — an authenticator app is safer than SMS.
- Set your limits up front. Add deposit and time limits during sign-up so your budget is fixed before you play.
- Confirm your email or phone to activate the account.
Avoid the common mistakes: a name that doesn’t match your ID, using a VPN, or opening a second account will all slow verification later. 18+ only. Set a budget and see our responsible gambling guide; free, confidential help is on 0800 654 655 (text 8006).
How to deposit into a betting account
Funding a betting account works much like a casino deposit, in New Zealand dollars (NZD).
- Log in and open the Cashier/Deposit screen.
- Choose a method — card, bank transfer or POLi, an e-wallet or crypto. Compare them on our payment methods guide.
- Enter the amount and check the minimum deposit.
- Read any free-bet or bonus terms before opting in — a free bet usually returns winnings only, not the stake.
- Confirm. Deposits are normally instant.
Heads up: some NZ banks decline gambling transactions, so keep a backup method, and only deposit what you’ve budgeted. Note that in New Zealand only TAB NZ is authorised for online sports and racing betting — see the current rules. 18+. Play responsibly.
How to withdraw your betting winnings
Verify your account early and payouts are straightforward, usually back to your deposit method.
- Complete verification (KYC) — upload ID and proof of address before your first withdrawal.
- Make sure bets have settled and any bonus conditions are met.
- Open Withdraw, pick your method (ideally the one you deposited with) and enter an amount within the limits.
- Submit and don’t cancel during any pending window.
- Wait: e-wallets and crypto are often hours; cards and bank transfers 1–5 business days.
If it’s delayed: check KYC, limits and that bets have settled, then contact support. 18+. Gamble responsibly — get support or call 0800 654 655.
TAB sports betting and New Zealand eligibility
Check the New Zealand gambling law guide before comparing features. Sports betting and online casino gambling have different regulatory paths. The presence of both products on an overseas website does not make their position the same.
Within the permitted market, useful questions concern the rules for the events you follow, the clarity of the betslip, NZD payments, customer support and tools for limiting spending. “Best” is not an objective fact that can be established by counting promotions. An interface that makes the stake, potential return and settlement conditions easy to understand may be more useful than a long list of unfamiliar markets.
Read decimal odds as a total return
At decimal odds of 2.40, a successful NZ$10 stake returns NZ$24 in total: the NZ$10 stake and NZ$14 profit. If it loses, the stake is lost. The implied probability is one divided by the odds, or about 41.7% in this example, before accounting for the bookmaker’s margin. It is not an independent forecast of the event.
Compare equivalent markets. A match winner selection including extra time is not identical to a normal-time result. An enhanced price with a restricted stake or special condition is not directly comparable to an unrestricted price without reading those limits.
Rugby and cricket betting: check how markets settle
For All Blacks, Super Rugby or domestic rugby markets, check the competition, match date and whether extra time counts. A handicap changes the score used to settle the bet; it does not change the actual match result. Winning-margin markets can also treat draws differently from a simple match-winner selection.
For Black Caps or White Ferns cricket, read the rules on reduced overs, abandoned matches, ties and any super over. A player market can have different participation requirements from the match result. For racing, confirm fixed odds versus tote, the place terms, scratchings, deductions and dead-heat provisions. The race type alone does not settle those questions.
Assess account features without confusing them with value
A mobile app should make the total stake and number of selections clear before confirmation. Filters, favourites and live scores can help navigation, but they do not improve the odds of a selection winning. Live data can be delayed. A price may change between viewing a market and confirming a bet.
Cash-out, where offered, is a separate quote that may change or become unavailable. It is not a guaranteed escape from a losing bet. Check whether a displayed amount is the total returned and compare it with the original stake. Avoid treating a temporary cash-out quote as money already in your bank.
The best sports betting site for a particular need cannot be inferred from the number of markets alone. A price comparison is meaningful only when the event, selection and settlement rules match. Keep an attractive price separate from payment charges, restrictions and the ability to set a firm spending limit.
Compare NZ betting sites on payments and limits
Check deposit and withdrawal methods separately, including account ownership requirements and any minimum withdrawal. Read the identity verification process before expecting access to funds. A NZD account avoids one possible conversion step, but does not remove every potential fee or delay.
Set a spending limit that can be lost without affecting bills, food or savings. A multi can make a small stake feel capable of a large return, but all required legs must succeed under the rules. Read our online betting guide for examples of multis, probability and common settlement distinctions.
Before confirming, check the selection, event, market, stake and displayed price. TAB’s cancellation guidance states that online bets are final once confirmed. Taking a moment at the betslip matters.
Check the product before comparing a betting brand
Rooster.bet illustrates why a combined menu is not enough
Rooster.bet’s public material lists casino games and sportsbook rules within one brand. Its terms also list NZD among supported currencies. Those are product and payment facts; they do not authorise its sportsbook for New Zealand customers.
DIA’s racing-policy guidance identifies TAB NZ as the exclusive online sports and racing provider. A casino transition permission, offshore licence or NZD cashier cannot replace that sports-specific requirement. Rooster.bet is an example of the distinction, not an NZ sportsbook recommendation.
Use eligibility as a pass-or-stop check
- Identify whether the activity is sports, racing or a casino game.
- Match the brand to the business operating the service.
- For NZ online sports and racing, confirm it is a TAB NZ service, including an authorised TAB brand.
- Only then compare the market rules, payments, interface and controls relevant to you.
A website loading successfully or displaying a local flag does not answer step three. An app-store listing does not answer it either.
Build a useful comparison from one clearly defined market
Record enough detail to compare like with like
Choose a market you understand and record the fixture, start date, selection, handicap or total, settlement period and the time the price was checked. Include whether the quote is an ordinary cash price or a conditional promotion. A result including extra time cannot be compared directly with a normal-time result.
For an illustrative NZ$20 cash stake, odds of 1.90 produce a NZ$38 total return if successful; odds of 2.00 produce NZ$40. The NZ$2 difference says nothing about the chance of winning. If the second price has a maximum stake or a different settlement rule, record that before treating it as an equivalent quote.
Keep sample evidence separate from broad claims
A two-outcome market priced at 1.90 on both sides has implied probabilities totalling about 105.26%. That is a sample overround of about 5.26 percentage points above 100%, not a promise that each customer loses 5.26% or evidence that every market has that margin.
Without a repeatable set of comparable, dated samples, do not label a whole sportsbook the lowest-margin option. Published odds, an accepted bet and the final settlement are three different records.
Compare account controls before funding
Find the controls that affect your own use
Locate deposit limits, time-outs, transaction history, withdrawal conditions and the formal complaint route. Check what each limit measures and whether a reduction takes effect immediately. A limit on one account may not cover another brand, so read the stated scope.
On mobile, confirm that the total stake, possible return and market rules remain visible without awkward navigation. Find the setting for odds changes and notifications. These checks can be completed without increasing a stake or accepting an offer. If a feature is unclear, leave the bet unplaced and ask for an explanation.
Bet types explained: singles, multis, system bets and props
Before weighing up any operator, it helps to know the core bet types a sportsbook offers. The labels are broadly the same across books, so understanding them once lets you compare products on a like-for-like basis rather than on marketing language.
Single bets: one selection, one outcome
A single stakes your money on one outcome, such as a team to win a Super Rugby match. If the selection wins, your return is your stake multiplied by the decimal odds; if it loses, the stake is gone. Singles are the clearest way to understand how a price translates into a return.
Multis and accumulators: combining legs multiplies risk
A multi (accumulator) combines two or more selections into one bet. The odds multiply together, so returns grow quickly, but every leg must win for the bet to pay. One losing leg voids the whole multi. The compounding that makes multis attractive is the same mechanism that makes them harder to land.
System bets: part-cover across combinations
A system bet (such as a Yankee or Trixie) splits several selections into many smaller multis, so you can still collect even if one leg loses. The trade-off is that your total stake is spread across every combination, so the cost of the bet is higher than a single multi of the same selections.
Props, specials and futures
Proposition (prop) bets settle on events inside a match — first try-scorer, total sixes, a player to be carded. Futures (outrights) settle on a whole competition, such as the Super Rugby Pacific winner. These markets can stay open for weeks, which ties up your stake until the event resolves.
| Bet type | What it settles on | Key characteristic |
|---|---|---|
| Single | One selection | Return = stake × odds |
| Multi / accumulator | All legs combined | Odds multiply; one loss voids all |
| System | Many smaller multis | Part-cover; higher total stake |
| Prop / special | Event inside a match | Narrow, often higher-variance |
| Future / outright | A whole competition | Stake tied up until it resolves |
For a plain-language primer on terminology, see our online betting guide.
How odds markets settle: each-way, dead heat and void bets
Reading a price is only half the picture. How a market settles determines what actually lands in your account, and a few settlement rules routinely catch people out. None of this is operator-specific advice — it is how the mechanics work generally, so you can read terms before, not after, a bet is graded.
Each-way: two bets in one
An each-way bet is really two stakes — one on the selection to win, one on it to "place" (finish in a set number of positions). You stake twice your unit. The place portion pays at a fraction of the win odds, so an each-way return is usually smaller than the headline price suggests.
Dead heat: a shared result reduces the payout
When two or more selections tie for a position, a dead-heat rule applies: your stake on that position is divided by the number of competitors that tied, and only that share is paid at the full odds. A "winning" bet can therefore return less than you expected.
Void bets and non-runners
If an event is abandoned, a market is pulled, or a runner is withdrawn, affected selections are usually voided and the stake returned at odds of 1.00 (no profit, no loss). In a multi, a voided leg typically drops out and the remaining legs recalculate — it does not automatically lose the whole bet.
Rule changes and deductions
In racing, a late non-runner can trigger a deduction from the odds of the other runners to reflect the shifted market. These rules live in each operator's betting terms, which is why reading the settlement section before you stake matters more than the advertised price.
Flag: settlement rules and "place" terms vary by operator and by event, and can change — treat the specifics above as the general pattern, not a fixed guarantee.
How to read a betslip before you confirm
The betslip is the last checkpoint before money is committed, yet it is where avoidable mistakes happen — a wrong stake, the wrong leg, or an accidental multi. Treat it as a review screen, not a formality.
Check the selection and the market
Confirm the exact selection (team, player, runner) and the exact market (match result, handicap, total). Many markets look similar at a glance; a handicap line of −6.5 is a different bet from the straight head-to-head.
Check the stake and the format
Confirm the stake is what you intend in NZ$ and that the slip reads as a single rather than an unintended multi. Adding a second selection to a slip often switches it into a multi automatically.
Check the odds and the projected return
The slip shows the current decimal odds and a projected return (stake plus profit). If the price has moved since you clicked, the slip may ask you to accept the new odds — read that figure, not the one you remember.
Confirm, then verify in your bet history
After confirming, open your bet history to check the bet was accepted exactly as shown. A placed bet that differs from the slip you reviewed should be queried straight away.
Working out the projected return from decimal odds is covered on this page already; the betslip simply surfaces that maths for you to sanity-check.
In-play versus pre-match betting: speed changes the risk
Pre-match (ante-post) betting happens before an event starts; in-play (live) betting happens while it is running, with prices shifting ball by ball. The difference is not just timing — it changes how disciplined you need to be.
Why in-play markets move so fast
Live odds react to the run of play, so a market can open and close in seconds. That speed rewards people who had a plan and punishes impulse. Prices are also suspended around key moments (a try, a wicket), and bets placed during a suspension are rejected.
The staking trap in live betting
Because there is always a new market, in-play betting makes it easy to stake more often than you planned. The responsible-gambling tools below — deposit limits, time-outs — matter most here, where the next bet is only a tap away.
Cash out is not a free exit
Cash out lets you settle a bet early for an offered amount. That amount already includes the operator's margin, so it is usually less than the theoretical value of letting the bet run. It is a convenience feature, not a guaranteed way to lock in profit.
Live streaming and latency
Where streaming exists, there is often a delay between the live action and the feed. If you are betting off a stream, you may be acting on information the market has already priced in.
For money-control tools that pair with fast markets, see responsible gambling.
Bankroll and staking discipline for NZ bettors
Bankroll management is the difference between a hobby with a budget and a problem with a bankroll. It has nothing to do with which operator you use and everything to do with how you size and pace your bets.
Set a bankroll you can afford to lose
Decide, in advance, a fixed amount in NZ$ that is entertainment spend — money whose loss will not affect rent, bills or savings. That figure is your bankroll; it is not a float to top up when it runs low.
Use a flat unit size
A common discipline is staking a small, fixed percentage of the bankroll per bet (for example, 1–5% as a "unit"). Flat staking stops a bad run from being compounded by ever-larger bets, and stops a good run from inflating into recklessness.
Never chase losses
Chasing — raising stakes to win back what you have lost — is the single most common way bankrolls disappear. A losing session is information that the budget is doing its job, not a signal to bet bigger.
Track every bet
Recording stakes, odds and outcomes turns vague impressions into real numbers. Most people discover they are betting more than they thought once they write it down. Deposit and loss limits, covered under responsible gambling, enforce these habits automatically.

Mobile betting: apps, browsers and what offshore books actually offer
Most betting now happens on a phone, but how you access a sportsbook on mobile is often misunderstood — especially for offshore operators, which frequently have no native app at all.
Native app versus mobile browser
A native app is downloaded from an app store; a mobile browser site loads in Safari or Chrome. For many offshore books, app-store policies mean there is no official app, so the "app" is really a web app you save to your home screen. A listed brand claiming an "app" may simply mean a bookmarked mobile site.
Beware look-alike apps
Because official apps are scarce, unofficial or copycat apps sometimes appear. Installing one risks your login details and your money. The absence of a store listing is a reason for caution, not a detail to ignore.
What to check on mobile before anything else
Confirm the mobile experience surfaces the same deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion controls as the desktop site, and that your bet history and betslip are easy to review on a small screen. A fast app is no use if the safer-gambling tools are buried.
Our listed brands — for example Gambiva, Rooster.bet, 22bet, BetLabel and Rabona — are offshore operators and are named here only as factual examples of the lineup, not as recommended or NZ-authorised sportsbooks.
1. How online betting works end to end in New Zealand (educational)
This walkthrough explains the mechanics of online sports betting so you can understand what any sportsbook is doing — it is educational, not an instruction to open an offshore account. In New Zealand, only TAB NZ may lawfully offer online sports and racing betting to people located here, so the legal reality is built into each step.
- Understand who may legally offer the bet. Since 28 June 2025, TAB NZ (and its brands) is the only provider authorised to offer online sports and racing betting to customers in New Zealand. Our listed brands are offshore and are not NZ-authorised sportsbooks. Start by reading the New Zealand gambling laws.
- Confirm eligibility. Legal betting requires you to be 18 or over and to pass identity (KYC) checks. No lawful operator should let you bet without verifying age and identity.
- Learn the market you are interested in. Decide whether you are looking at a match result, a handicap, a total, or a futures market, and read how that market settles before anything else.
- Read the price. New Zealand books quote decimal odds. Return equals stake multiplied by the odds; a 2.50 price on a NZ$10 bet returns NZ$25 (NZ$15 profit plus your stake).
- Set a budget first. Decide the NZ$ amount that is entertainment spend before you consider funding anything, and size a flat unit from it.
- Understand how a betslip and settlement work. The betslip shows selection, stake, odds and projected return; settlement rules (void, dead heat, each-way) decide the final payout. Know both before committing.
- Know the responsible-gambling tools. Deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion exist to keep betting a budgeted hobby. Review responsible gambling early, not after a problem starts.
- Keep records and review. Track stakes and outcomes so your real spend is visible, and stop if it stops being fun.
Help in New Zealand is free and confidential: call 0800 654 655 or text 8006. You must be 18 or over.
2. How we assess a sportsbook's NZ eligibility
This page does not recommend a list of New Zealand sportsbooks. Instead, we assess operators against New Zealand's legal reality and against transparent, repeatable checks. Here is the order we work through.
- Check NZ authorisation first. We establish whether an operator is legally authorised to offer online sports and racing betting to people in New Zealand. Under the law in force since 28 June 2025, only TAB NZ is — so every other brand is treated as offshore and not an authorised NZ sportsbook.
- Classify the operator. We record the operating entity and its overseas licensing jurisdiction as a matter of fact, so readers can see exactly what they are looking at rather than a marketing badge.
- Assess product, not promises. We look at the actual markets, bet types, odds presentation, betslip and settlement terms — the things covered above — so the assessment rests on how the product behaves, not on advertised bonuses.
- Assess money controls. We check whether deposit limits, time-outs, reality checks and self-exclusion are present and easy to reach before, not after, funding.
- Assess payments and limits factually. We note deposit and withdrawal methods, stated timeframes and limits in NZ$ terms, without treating speed as an endorsement.
- Weigh the risk framing honestly. We state plainly that offshore operators sit outside New Zealand's consumer protections, and we point readers to the law and to responsible gambling rather than to a sign-up.
- Re-check when the facts change. Legal status, licensing and terms move, so an assessment is a snapshot and is re-reviewed rather than assumed to be permanent.
Flag: New Zealand's regulatory position is time-sensitive and has changed recently; always confirm current status via New Zealand gambling laws.
Detailed offshore sportsbook eligibility assessments
“Best for” headings match a documented feature to a particular interest. They are editorial assessments, not overall rankings, hands-on tests or guarantees of NZ availability.

Gambiva: NZ Sports Eligibility and Offer Checks
Gambiva appears in the supplied sports lineup. This assessment separates the information available in current source records from details that still need to be established in New Zealand account terms. Inclusion is not an endorsement or proof of local authorisation.
Games and Software
Gambiva is first in both supplied casino and sports lists, but that ranking is not a published game audit. The direct domain was inaccessible to the research tool. Similar-looking “official” domains appeared in search, including an informational affiliate site, so their provider lists and licensing assertions were excluded. The identity and NZ game offering need confirmation at the actual operator.
Bonuses and Promotions
the supplied source bonuses view lists a 300% sports first-deposit match up to NZ$3,500 (Gambiva AU sports record; no NZ-specific amount published). NZ sports betting is TAB-exclusive, so this is not an authorised NZ sportsbook; the amount reflects the source listing.
Record checked 2026-10-28
The NZ sports-specific source record for Gambiva does not establish a complete, eligible NZ sportsbook promotion. Casino bonuses, free spins and loyalty-shop conditions must not be substituted for sportsbook terms. Current TAB NZ exclusivity means this brand is not an authorised NZ sports-betting recommendation. General casino information elsewhere in this assessment is background on the brand, not evidence of NZ sportsbook availability. For an illustration only, a NZ$100 bonus with 35× bonus-only wagering requires NZ$3,500 in qualifying bets. If the same multiplier applies to a NZ$100 deposit plus that bonus, it requires NZ$7,000. These are explanatory examples, not Gambiva terms.
Payment Methods
Earlier accounts list Visa, Mastercard, bank transfer, Skrill, Neteller and cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin and Tether. They report an e-wallet receipt estimate within 24 hours but also a separate pending period of up to 72 hours. These are unverified historical claims, not an end-to-end payout promise. Current NZ cashier limits and supported withdrawal methods were not independently established.
Operator information
Entries marked “Comparison record” come from secondary research and have not been independently rechecked against current operator terms. Approximate NZ$ amounts are source conversions, not confirmed NZD cashier limits. Licence claims and payment estimates remain subject to verification.

| Crypto / e-wallet processing | Comparison record: E-wallets within 24 hours listed, plus up to 72-hour pending period; crypto-specific time unconfirmed |
A published general cashout limit is not evidence of an instant-transfer service. Currency and method restrictions remain as stated in the source.
Pros & Cons
- No positive feature has been verified strongly enough to support a recommendation; read the source limitations before deciding.
- NZ cashier and full offer conditions remain unconfirmed.

Rooster.bet: Casino and Sports Eligibility Differences
Rooster.bet appears in the supplied sports lineup. This assessment separates the information available in current source records from details that still need to be established in New Zealand account terms. Inclusion is not an endorsement or proof of local authorisation.
Games and Software
Rooster.bet publishes provider-specific restrictions for NetEnt, Play’n GO, Pragmatic and Amatic. These restrictions demonstrate that game availability is territorial, so a global supplier list cannot guarantee the NZ lobby. Its help centre also links sportsbook rules, but this does not make the sportsbook an authorised New Zealand service. Casino and sports eligibility must be assessed separately.
Bonuses and Promotions
the supplied source bonuses view lists no sports-specific offer for Rooster.bet; the figure shown is its casino welcome up to NZ$7,500. NZ sports betting is TAB-exclusive, so this is not an authorised NZ sportsbook; the amount reflects the source listing.
Record checked 2026-10-28
The NZ sports-specific source record for Rooster.bet does not establish a complete, eligible NZ sportsbook promotion. These are explanatory examples, not Rooster.bet terms.
Payment Methods
NZD is listed alongside BTC, BCH, ETH, DOGE, LTC, USDT, XRP, BNB, ADA and TRX. The terms require deposits to be wagered three times before withdrawal and permit identity checks. Card support is conditional on the issuer. Crypto is not an exemption from verification or a promise of immediate payment.
Operator information
Entries marked “Comparison record” come from secondary research and have not been independently rechecked against current operator terms. Approximate NZ$ amounts are source conversions, not confirmed NZD cashier limits. Licence claims and payment estimates remain subject to verification.
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|

| Crypto / e-wallet processing | Comparison record: Crypto/e-wallets advertised as instant after processing; requests targeted within 72 hours after approval, with KYC additional |
A published general cashout limit is not evidence of an instant-transfer service. Currency and method restrictions remain as stated in the source.
Pros & Cons
- Public terms identify the operating company and offshore licence claim.
- Provider and territory restrictions apply; catalogue access is not guaranteed.
- Withdrawal verification can delay cash-out.

22bet: International Sports Interface and NZ Restrictions
22bet appears in the supplied sports lineup. This assessment separates the information available in current source records from details that still need to be established in New Zealand account terms. Inclusion is not an endorsement or proof of local authorisation.
Games and Software
The direct 22bet domain redirected to 22bet24h.com and exposed a global sports interface. That observation confirms a live international site, not an authorised NZ bookmaker or a verified NZ market list. No odds comparison, bet acceptance or cash-out test was performed. The critical review finding for a New Zealand audience is the legal eligibility barrier.
Bonuses and Promotions
the supplied source bonuses view lists a 100% sports first-deposit match up to NZ$200 (22bet MY sports record; no NZ-specific amount published). NZ sports betting is TAB-exclusive, so this is not an authorised NZ sportsbook; the amount reflects the source listing.
Record checked 2026-10-28
The NZ sports record contains no offer. A global site or its timezone selector does not establish NZ authorisation, and an overseas sports promotion cannot overcome the TAB NZ exclusivity rule. There is no basis here for a “best NZ odds” or “best welcome bonus” claim. For an illustration only, a NZ$100 bonus with 35× bonus-only wagering requires NZ$3,500 in qualifying bets. If the same multiplier applies to a NZ$100 deposit plus that bonus, it requires NZ$7,000. These are explanatory examples, not 22bet terms.
Payment Methods
No NZ sports payment schedule is presented: this operator is not an authorised NZ sports-betting option under the current DIA rule. Any payment methods visible internationally would not establish legal NZ sports access. Not confirmed in accessible NZ terms.
Operator information
Entries marked “Comparison record” come from secondary research and have not been independently rechecked against current operator terms. Approximate NZ$ amounts are source conversions, not confirmed NZD cashier limits. Licence claims and payment estimates remain subject to verification.

A published general cashout limit is not evidence of an instant-transfer service. Currency and method restrictions remain as stated in the source.
Pros & Cons
- No positive feature has been verified strongly enough to support a recommendation; read the source limitations before deciding.
- Not an authorised NZ sports-betting option under the current TAB NZ exclusivity rule.
- NZ sports payment terms and live-bet functionality were not verified.

BetLabel: NZ Eligibility and Sportsbook Evidence Gaps
BetLabel appears in the supplied sports lineup. This assessment separates the information available in current source records from details that still need to be established in New Zealand account terms. Inclusion is not an endorsement or proof of local authorisation.
Games and Software
BetLabel’s direct homepage was inaccessible to the research tool. As a result, no first-party NZ sports inventory, in-play functionality or settlement-rule comparison was established. A supplied affiliate-list position is not evidence that the operator may serve New Zealand. This entry records the eligibility issue instead of describing unobserved betting features.
Bonuses and Promotions
the supplied source bonuses view lists a 100% first-deposit sports bonus up to NZ$100 (BetLabel AT sports record; no NZ-specific amount published). NZ sports betting is TAB-exclusive, so this is not an authorised NZ sportsbook; the amount reflects the source listing.
Record checked 2026-10-28
No NZ sports welcome amount or wagering conditions appear in the supplied record. With operator access unconfirmed and the statutory NZ eligibility barrier in place, a bonus calculation would not create a usable NZ recommendation. For an illustration only, a NZ$100 bonus with 35× bonus-only wagering requires NZ$3,500 in qualifying bets. If the same multiplier applies to a NZ$100 deposit plus that bonus, it requires NZ$7,000. These are explanatory examples, not BetLabel terms.

- Not an authorised NZ sports-betting option under the current TAB NZ exclusivity rule.
- NZ sports payment terms and live-bet functionality were not verified.

Ivibet: Sports Market Availability Checks
Ivibet appears in the supplied sports lineup. This assessment separates the information available in current source records from details that still need to be established in New Zealand account terms. Inclusion is not an endorsement or proof of local authorisation.
Games and Software
Ivibet’s direct homepage returned an empty JavaScript shell. No readable first-party evidence established current sports, market depth, streaming or cash-out features. Those details cannot be supplied from another brand’s platform or a competitor review. The NZ assessment is governed first by TAB NZ’s exclusive right to provide sports and racing betting.
Bonuses and Promotions
the supplied source bonuses view lists a 100% sports match up to NZ$150 (Ivibet AT sports record; no NZ-specific amount published). NZ sports betting is TAB-exclusive, so this is not an authorised NZ sportsbook; the amount reflects the source listing.
Record checked 2026-10-28
The NZ sports feed leaves the offer empty. An unverified deposit match would add little to an evaluation when the bookmaker is not an authorised NZ sports option. No foreign-currency offer or generic casino promotion has been substituted. For an illustration only, a NZ$100 bonus with 35× bonus-only wagering requires NZ$3,500 in qualifying bets. If the same multiplier applies to a NZ$100 deposit plus that bonus, it requires NZ$7,000. These are explanatory examples, not Ivibet terms.

Goldenbet: Casino and Sportsbook Product Checks
Goldenbet appears in the supplied sports lineup. This assessment separates the information available in current source records from details that still need to be established in New Zealand account terms. Inclusion is not an endorsement or proof of local authorisation.
Games and Software
Goldenbet’s readable homepage identified itself as an online casino and sportsbook but exposed little beyond interface placeholders. That establishes product branding, not the sports covered, market liquidity, rules or NZ eligibility. We did not infer football, racing or esports depth from the brand name or count empty interface sections.
Bonuses and Promotions
the supplied source bonuses view lists 100% up to NZ$500 on each of the first three deposits, NZ$1,500 total (Goldenbet CA sports record; no NZ-specific amount published). NZ sports betting is TAB-exclusive, so this is not an authorised NZ sportsbook; the amount reflects the source listing.
Record checked 2026-10-28
The NZ sports record has no populated welcome offer. Casino and sports conditions are not interchangeable, so no casino headline has been used to fill that gap. Current NZ law also prevents presenting this offshore sportsbook as a local betting recommendation. For an illustration only, a NZ$100 bonus with 35× bonus-only wagering requires NZ$3,500 in qualifying bets. If the same multiplier applies to a NZ$100 deposit plus that bonus, it requires NZ$7,000. These are explanatory examples, not Goldenbet terms.

- Not an authorised NZ sports-betting option under the current TAB NZ exclusivity rule.
- NZ sports payment terms and live-bet functionality were not verified.

Zotabet: Separate Casino and Sports Promotions
Zotabet appears in the supplied sports lineup. This assessment separates the information available in current source records from details that still need to be established in New Zealand account terms. Inclusion is not an endorsement or proof of local authorisation.
Games and Software
Zotabet’s global homepage combines casino categories with a separate sports promotion and provides an NZ language selector. A language option is not authorisation to take sports bets from people in New Zealand. We observed the product separation but did not verify event coverage, odds, cash-out availability or NZ bet settlement.
Bonuses and Promotions
the supplied source bonuses view lists no sports-specific offer for Zotabet; the figure shown is its casino welcome of 100% up to NZ$1,000 plus 300 free spins (DK record). NZ sports betting is TAB-exclusive, so this is not an authorised NZ sportsbook; the amount reflects the source listing.
Record checked 2026-10-28
The direct global page displayed separate casino and free-bet promotions in EUR, while the NZ sports feed contains no offer. That is a reason to avoid conflating the products or converting the euro headline into NZD. Neither promotion changes the NZ eligibility issue. For an illustration only, a NZ$100 bonus with 35× bonus-only wagering requires NZ$3,500 in qualifying bets. If the same multiplier applies to a NZ$100 deposit plus that bonus, it requires NZ$7,000. These are explanatory examples, not Zotabet terms.
Payment Methods
No NZ sports payment schedule is presented: this operator is not an authorised NZ sports-betting option under the current DIA rule. Any payment methods visible internationally would not establish legal NZ sports access. Not confirmed in accessible NZ terms.

A published general cashout limit is not evidence of an instant-transfer service. Currency and method restrictions remain as stated in the source.

- Not an authorised NZ sports-betting option under the current TAB NZ exclusivity rule.
- NZ sports payment terms and live-bet functionality were not verified.

Roby Casino: Casino Rewards and Sports Offer Checks
Roby Casino appears in the supplied sports lineup. This assessment separates the information available in current source records from details that still need to be established in New Zealand account terms. Inclusion is not an endorsement or proof of local authorisation.
Games and Software
Roby’s public lobby contains separate roulette, blackjack, game-show, slot and jackpot categories, with visible titles including Gates of Olympus Super Scatter and Speed Roulette. The rules specifically list Planet of the Apes as unavailable in New Zealand. That concrete exception shows why a generic global game count should not be represented as the NZ catalogue.
Bonuses and Promotions
the supplied source bonuses view lists no sports-specific offer for Roby Casino; the figure shown is its 250% casino welcome up to NZ$5,000. NZ sports betting is TAB-exclusive, so this is not an authorised NZ sportsbook; the amount reflects the source listing.
Record checked 2026-10-28
The NZ sports-specific source record for Roby Casino does not establish a complete, eligible NZ sportsbook promotion. These are explanatory examples, not Roby Casino terms.
Payment Methods
Roby’s rules publish several NZD withdrawal tiers, so there is no single universal monthly limit. A reader should identify their actual tier before treating the highest allowance as available. The global footer’s card and Interac logos are not a verified NZ payment-method list. Minimums, fees and actual payout timing remain unconfirmed.
Operator information
Entries marked “Comparison record” come from secondary research and have not been independently rechecked against current operator terms. Approximate NZ$ amounts are source conversions, not confirmed NZD cashier limits. Licence claims and payment estimates remain subject to verification.

|---|---|

| Instant Transfer | Not confirmed in accessible NZ terms |
| Standard Transfer | Comparison record: Cards 3–5 days; banks 3–7 days listed, plus pending/KYC; weekday processing |
| Fees | Comparison record: No routine deposit/withdrawal fees listed; current exceptions and provider charges unconfirmed |
| Crypto / e-wallet processing | Comparison record: E-wallets 0–24 hours listed, after a separate pending period of up to 5 days; crypto time unconfirmed |
A published general cashout limit is not evidence of an instant-transfer service. Currency and method restrictions remain as stated in the source.
Pros & Cons
- Rules provide an explicit NZD withdrawal-tier table.
- The highest cash-out tier should not be assumed for a new player.
- Planet of the Apes is specifically restricted in NZ.

Billybets: Live Betting and Virtual Sports Menus
Billybets appears in the supplied sports lineup. This assessment separates the information available in current source records from details that still need to be established in New Zealand account terms. Inclusion is not an endorsement or proof of local authorisation.
Games and Software
Billybets’ global navigation distinguishes sports, live betting and virtual sports from its casino and live-casino sections. Virtual sports are a separate product, so their presence should not inflate a count of real sporting events. No NZ sports availability, market count or tested cash-out function was established, and the site is not presented as an authorised NZ option.
Bonuses and Promotions
the supplied source bonuses view lists a 100% sports match up to NZ$550 plus 200 free spins (Billybets CH sports record; no NZ-specific amount published). NZ sports betting is TAB-exclusive, so this is not an authorised NZ sportsbook; the amount reflects the source listing.
Record checked 2026-10-28
The NZ sports record has no welcome headline. The shop, challenges and VIP features visible on the site are separate reward mechanisms rather than evidence of a fixed sports deposit offer. A review cannot assign them a guaranteed NZD value. For an illustration only, a NZ$100 bonus with 35× bonus-only wagering requires NZ$3,500 in qualifying bets. If the same multiplier applies to a NZ$100 deposit plus that bonus, it requires NZ$7,000. These are explanatory examples, not Billybets terms.
Payment Methods
No NZ sports payment schedule is presented: this operator is not an authorised NZ sports-betting option under the current DIA rule. Any payment methods visible internationally would not establish legal NZ sports access. Not confirmed in accessible NZ terms.

| Crypto / e-wallet processing | Comparison record: Crypto/e-wallet requests: up to 96 business hours internal processing after checks; provider delivery is additional |

Rabona: Sports and Live Betting Eligibility
Rabona appears in the supplied sports lineup. This assessment separates the information available in current source records from details that still need to be established in New Zealand account terms. Inclusion is not an endorsement or proof of local authorisation.
Games and Software
Rabona’s public page presents sports and live betting alongside casino categories. The retrieved page also contains a Germany-specific game heading, demonstrating why a global rendering should not be treated as the NZ version. We have not imported its overseas menu into an NZ sports recommendation or claimed tested odds quality.
Bonuses and Promotions
the supplied source bonuses view lists a 100% first-deposit match up to NZ$200, plus a 50% reload up to NZ$1,000 and 10% cashback. NZ sports betting is TAB-exclusive, so this is not an authorised NZ sportsbook; the amount reflects the source listing.
Record checked 2026-10-28
The NZ feed lists 100% up to $200 and cashback, but does not explicitly identify NZD or supply sports playthrough details. The displayed casino catalogue does not resolve that ambiguity. More fundamentally, the current NZ provider restriction means this cannot be promoted as an eligible NZ sportsbook bonus. The supplied NZ record states: 100% UP TO $200. Additional fields in the supplied NZ sports record: Reload promotion: 50% bonus up to $1,000; Cashback: 10% cashback; Loyalty programme: VIP Elite Club. These feed fields do not establish how separate promotions combine or replace the operator-specific conditions below. For an illustration only, a NZ$100 bonus with 35× bonus-only wagering requires NZ$3,500 in qualifying bets. If the same multiplier applies to a NZ$100 deposit plus that bonus, it requires NZ$7,000. These are explanatory examples, not Rabona terms.
Payment Methods
No NZ sports payment schedule is presented: this operator is not an authorised NZ sports-betting option under the current DIA rule. Any payment methods visible internationally would not establish legal NZ sports access. Not confirmed in accessible NZ terms.

Casinia: Sports Bonus Classification and NZ Restrictions
Casinia appears in the supplied sports lineup. This assessment separates the information available in current source records from details that still need to be established in New Zealand account terms. Inclusion is not an endorsement or proof of local authorisation.
Games and Software
Casinia’s direct homepage returned HTTP 403. Its current sports inventory and settlement rules could not be assessed from first-party text. The presence of this brand in the supplied sports list is a record of an affiliate lineup, not confirmation of current NZ access or regulatory permission.
Bonuses and Promotions
the supplied source bonuses view lists a 100% match up to NZ$1,000 plus 200 free spins and 1 Bonus Crab. NZ sports betting is TAB-exclusive, so this is not an authorised NZ sportsbook; the amount reflects the source listing.
Record checked 2026-10-28
The NZ sports record contains a truncated offer with free spins and a partial “Bonus C...” label. That is not a complete sports contract and may mix casino components with a sports-labelled record. The text has not been completed by guessing, and no NZD value or sports eligibility is claimed. The supplied NZ record states: 100% up to $1,000 + 200 FS + 1 Bonus C.... Additional fields in the supplied NZ sports record: Free spins: 200. These are explanatory examples, not Casinia terms.

BassBet: Virtual Sports and Mixed Promotion Terms
BassBet appears in the supplied sports lineup. This assessment separates the information available in current source records from details that still need to be established in New Zealand account terms. Inclusion is not an endorsement or proof of local authorisation.
Games and Software
BassBet’s public navigation includes sports, live betting and virtual sports as well as casino games. Its homepage also features a fishing-themed promotion and a Germany-specific game heading. Those observations describe the global presentation only. A themed interface and casino reward do not establish the depth or eligibility of its NZ sports offering.
Record checked 2026-10-28
the supplied source’s screenshot distinguishes sports and casino promotions. The sports choices are 100% up to $200 or a separate 100% up to 200 USDT. The text feed’s 100% up to $1,000 with 200 spins and a Bonus Crab is shown as a casino offer, so it is not used as the sports headline. The dollar currency and original capture date are unspecified, and none of these offshore promotions is presented as an authorised New Zealand sports offer. The supplied NZ record states: 100% up to $1,000 + 200 FS + 1 Bonus Crab. Additional fields in the supplied NZ sports record: Free spins: 200. These are explanatory examples, not BassBet terms.

Pros & Cons
- No positive feature has been verified strongly enough to support a recommendation; read the source limitations before deciding.
- Not an authorised NZ sports-betting option under the current TAB NZ exclusivity rule.
- NZ sports payment terms and live-bet functionality were not verified.

Librabet: Separate Sportsbook Promotion Rules
Librabet appears in the supplied sports lineup. This assessment separates the information available in current source records from details that still need to be established in New Zealand account terms. Inclusion is not an endorsement or proof of local authorisation.
Games and Software
Librabet visibly separates sportsbook, live betting and virtual sports, and gives casino and sport promotions separate links. That separation is useful editorially because offer restrictions differ by product. The homepage’s global event-volume marketing was not independently tested or reused as an NZ availability claim.
Bonuses and Promotions
the supplied source bonuses view lists a 100% match up to NZ$100. NZ sports betting is TAB-exclusive, so this is not an authorised NZ sportsbook; the amount reflects the source listing.
Record checked 2026-10-28
The NZ sports record is denominated in EUR, not NZD, and includes a separate free-spins field without a clear sports linkage. No currency conversion or casino-to-sports substitution has been made. A euro promotion on an offshore bookmaker is not a current authorised New Zealand betting offer. The supplied NZ record states: 100% up to €100. Additional fields in the supplied NZ sports record: Free spins: 200. These are explanatory examples, not Librabet terms.

Nomini: Sports, Racing and NZ Eligibility
Nomini appears in the supplied sports lineup. This assessment separates the information available in current source records from details that still need to be established in New Zealand account terms. Inclusion is not an endorsement or proof of local authorisation.
Games and Software
Nomini’s global navigation lists sports, live betting, horse racing and virtual sports. Racing needs its own eligibility check, but in New Zealand the same TAB NZ exclusivity restriction covers racing and sports. This observed menu therefore cannot support an NZ “all-in-one bookmaker” recommendation. Odds and settlement handling were not tested.
Bonuses and Promotions
the supplied source bonuses view lists no sports-specific offer for Nomini; the figure shown is its casino welcome of 100% up to NZ$500 (GR record). NZ sports betting is TAB-exclusive, so this is not an authorised NZ sportsbook; the amount reflects the source listing.
Record checked 2026-10-28
Nomini’s NZ sports record has no populated bonus headline. The visible shop, wheel and challenges are not a verified deposit match or free bet. Their existence provides no basis to estimate a welcome value for New Zealand customers, whose sports eligibility is the overriding issue. For an illustration only, a NZ$100 bonus with 35× bonus-only wagering requires NZ$3,500 in qualifying bets. If the same multiplier applies to a NZ$100 deposit plus that bonus, it requires NZ$7,000. These are explanatory examples, not Nomini terms.

Spinanga: International Sports Categories and NZ Rules
Spinanga appears in the supplied sports lineup. This assessment separates the information available in current source records from details that still need to be established in New Zealand account terms. Inclusion is not an endorsement or proof of local authorisation.
Games and Software
Spinanga’s public sports menu lists football, tennis, table tennis, basketball, ice hockey, American football and baseball, plus virtuals. This establishes categories shown internationally, not that NZ users may place those bets. Its separate live-casino and game-show menu should not be counted as sports coverage. No odds sampling or live-bet test was undertaken.
Bonuses and Promotions
the supplied source bonuses view lists no sports-specific offer for Spinanga; the figure shown is its casino welcome of 100% up to NZ$500 (AE record). NZ sports betting is TAB-exclusive, so this is not an authorised NZ sportsbook; the amount reflects the source listing.
Record checked 2026-10-28
Spinanga’s NZ sports feed has no welcome amount. Global site rewards advertised in EUR are not an NZD sports offer. Even a fully specified foreign promotion would not resolve the current NZ sports-provider restriction, so this entry is informational rather than a recommendation to register. For an illustration only, a NZ$100 bonus with 35× bonus-only wagering requires NZ$3,500 in qualifying bets. If the same multiplier applies to a NZ$100 deposit plus that bonus, it requires NZ$7,000. A few useful answers
Frequently asked questions
Can an offshore casino licence cover sports betting in NZ?
No. Do not treat casino eligibility or an overseas licence as permission to provide online racing and sports betting to New Zealand customers.
Does the highest price always make a bet good value?
No. You must first compare equivalent settlement conditions, and the outcome remains uncertain. A higher potential return is not a prediction of profit.
What does a NZ$10 bet at 2.40 return?
If it wins under the market rules, the total return is NZ$24, including the original NZ$10 stake.
Does an NZD wallet prove a sportsbook is authorised in New Zealand?
No. Currency support and legal eligibility are separate. Check the sports-specific TAB NZ requirement before comparing account features.
Can one low-margin match establish the best sportsbook?
No. It is a dated sample of one market. A broader claim needs comparable markets and a transparent method, and eligibility must be checked first.
Is online sports betting legal in New Zealand?
Betting is legal for adults, but since 28 June 2025 only TAB NZ (and its brands) may lawfully offer online sports and racing betting to people located in New Zealand. The law targets operators, not individual bettors. Offshore sportsbooks are not authorised NZ providers. See New Zealand gambling laws for the current position. This status is time-sensitive and can change.
What is the only authorised online sports betting provider in New Zealand?
TAB NZ is the sole provider authorised to offer online sports and racing betting to customers in New Zealand. Any other brand — including the offshore operators named elsewhere on this site as factual lineup examples — is not an authorised New Zealand sportsbook.
How do decimal odds work and how much would I get back?
New Zealand books use decimal odds. Your total return equals your stake multiplied by the odds. A NZ$10 bet at odds of 3.00 returns NZ$30 in total — NZ$20 profit plus your NZ$10 stake. Odds below 2.00 return less than double your stake; odds above 2.00 return more.
What happens to my bet in a dead heat or if the event is void?
In a dead heat, your stake on the tied position is divided by the number of selections that tied and only that share is paid at full odds, so the return is reduced. If an event is abandoned or a selection is withdrawn, the bet is usually voided and your stake returned at odds of 1.00. In a multi, a voided leg normally drops out and the remaining legs recalculate. Exact rules vary by operator and event.
How much should I stake per bet?
A common discipline is a flat unit of around 1–5% of a bankroll you have set aside as entertainment spend in NZ$. Flat staking stops a losing run being made worse by larger bets, and the golden rule is to never chase losses. Deposit and loss limits under responsible gambling can enforce this for you.
Do offshore betting sites have official apps?
Often not. App-store policies mean many offshore operators have no native app, so their "app" is usually a mobile website saved to your home screen. Be wary of unofficial or copycat apps, which can put your login and money at risk. The absence of an official store listing is a reason for caution.
Where can I get help if betting stops being fun?
Help in New Zealand is free, confidential and available 24/7. Call the Gambling Helpline on 0800 654 655 or text 8006. You can also use deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion — see responsible gambling. You must be 18 or over to bet.
